Brian Setzer

Brian Setzer is part of the cast considered famous in Jack & Jackie. He first appears in Season 3, at the episode "Singin' Buzzard".

Description

Brian is a sulphur-crested cockatoo. He has grayish-white feathers, a gourgeous blonde pompadour, and gray beak.

His main guitar is an hollow-body orange Gretsch.

Relations

He's husband of Julie Setzer.

At the episode "Singin' Buzzard", Jackie is presented to him thanks to Julie, during the presentation of Morris's band at the Flock Presents Festival. Jack, whose singing voice sounds like Brian's, perfoms firstly alone and later, briefly, with the band. Brian likes and, already knowing Jackie is part of the bands, asks her to keep a secret for now.

At the episode "Pomp Men", Jackie makes a surprise before the concert of Jack's band and introduces Brian to him while he tunes his guitar. This is such a shock that Jack faints, believing it's all a dream when he wakes up. Jackie, Alice and Brian confirm that is not a dream, and Jack gets some solo time with him to share some thoughts (and acting like a superfan, of course).

At the next episode, "The Celebration", following what happened at the previous, it's settled that Jack opens Brian's concert at the Christmas Surprise Festival, and right after, that the 12 go to the second stage, now as dancers. Another thing that happens, also a surprise between them, is that between these two events, Jack asks to marry Jackie.

At the episode "Love Season", Brian, Julie and everyone from The Brian Setzer Orchestra are especially invited to Jack and Jackie's wedding, part as official band, part as actual guests.

At the last episode of the series, "Together on the Road", the continous interaction among everyone it's noticeable.

Trivia

• Brian, the character, is inspired by the person with the same name in real life. His wife, Julie, too, and his band, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, too.


• His bird version is one of the biggest constants in Jack and Jackie's life, even before they were together. His real life version contributes to a big part of the series' soundtrack. Both versions are a significant part of the plot.


• The fact that Jack has similarities with Brian when singing - and that, by the way, being pointed by various characters -, it's because the author's dreamcast, that is, in case that a cast of famous voices were possible, has as Jack's English voice, since the beginning of creation of the series, the name of Brian Setzer.
