Sinopse
Uma viagem para quebrar a rotina leva dois pássaros a se encontrarem.Enredo
Poulon, fim de tarde. Há um barco no cais, e alguns tripulantes com uniformes da Marinha de Long Island estão embarcando nele. A seguir, vemos dois soldados do Exército de Poulon vindo também: são Jack e Shane. Jack tropeça na calçada e, tomando isso como um sinal, avisa a Shane que não vai embarcar. Ele o impede, mencionando sobre não recair por sua ex-mulher e convencendo-o de que ele não tem escolha, afinal, esta já é uma viagem marcada.
Uma vez no dormitório do barco, os dois encontram os outros membros do grupo, também felizes por Jack ter escolhido embarcar. Eles lhe contam que uma festa está por vir, o que o deixa contente.
Na festa, estão os tripulantes da Marinha. Os soldados tentam se enturmar, trocando a música que toca na jukebox e dançando, e isso funciona. O Capitão também acha a apresentação agradável e, logo após, anuncia quem são os soldados desta viagem, nesta ordem: Morris, Ted, Henry, Lardee, Shane e Jack.
Assim que os canapés são servidos, Jack pega um punhado para comer, junto com um pote de molho verde. Uma tripulante se aproxima com seu prato para que possam dividir o molho. Jack pergunta a ela do que é feito, e ela diz que é de alecrim. Isto o deixa nervoso, já que ele exagerou na dose antes de saber disso, então larga tudo e sai correndo até a proa do barco. Ele passa por Shane no caminho, conversando com uma das responsáveis que estão na cozinha, e explica a ela que a história do alecrim tem a ver com certo acontecimento envolvendo Jack, seu pai e grandes quantidades do tempero, deixando-o um tanto intolerante à erva.
Jack acaba por atravessar praticamente todo o barco, antes de chegar à proa e expelir o que comeu. Se ele tivesse sido um pouco mais rápido, poderia chegar à enfermaria, logo atrás dele. Mas tinha algo mais atrás dele também...
Querendo ajudá-lo, Jackie chega para conferir se ele está bem. Jack escolhe apenas acenar suas respostas e não dizer nada. Ela então lhe oferece um remédio, logo voltando às suas tarefas na cozinha. Esta "conversa" entre os dois é feita um tanto em forma de flerte, especialmente por ela, o que deixa Jack fascinado.
Um pouco depois, Shane aparece à sua procura. Jack ficou na proa, apreciando a noite, a brisa e a paisagem marítima, algo inédito, já que o mar é um de seus medos. Ele conta a Shane que se sente melhor, tanto fisicamente quanto "de coração", já que talvez, enfim, tenha superado sua ex e conhecido seu novo amor. Shane comemora e o saúda por isso, convidando-o para voltar à festa e contar tudo a respeito.

- O nome do episódio de fato se refere ao barco em que eles estão, mas se considerada a palavra em inglês, ship, também significa uma gíria para quando se torce para um casal ficar junto. <3
- Este barco, de forma muito propícia, é chamado de Anima, raiz da palavra "anima-ção", a mídia escolhida para contar esta história; um detalhe bem significativo para o primeiro episódio!
- Gostou do efeito sonoro da primeira cena? É daqui. Pois é, você não esperava por essa (e nem eu). Meio Looney Tunes, não?
- Quando Jack menciona que já está superando Georgia, ele fala, de certa forma, como o personagem Kronk, do filme A Nova Onda do Imperador (2000), nesta cena. Isso é uma espécie de homenagem ao dublador Guilherme Briggs, que faz a voz do Kronk e também é dreamcast da autora pro nosso urubu favorito (essa foi longe, hein, olha aí!).
- Jack, em certo momento, chama Shane de "Shenanigan". Este era o antigo nome que a autora ia usar para Shane, antes de saber que isso era uma palavra real no idioma inglês e que não necessariamente ia funcionar. Por fim, ficou somente a menção.
- Shane aponta a uma passante e diz "Até ela, ali". Isto é um leve trocadilho ou rima com o nome artístico da autora (hehe).
- Quando Shane diz aos tripulantes que "alguém precisa começar essa festa", todos ficam quietos, alguém tosse e um personagem aleatório aparece no canto da tela. Isso é um "silêncio constrangedor", truque clássico de desenhos animados, especialmente dos anos 2000.
- Neste episódio, há a primeira aparição da frase-mor desta série: "Vai ser uma longa viagem..."
- Jack fica com o lenço lilás que Jackie dá pra ele se limpar até uma oportunidade de devolvê-lo a ela, 16 episódios depois.

Synopsis
A trip to break the routine leads two birds to meet each other.Plot
Poulon, early evening. There's a ship on the wharf, and some crew members with uniforms from Long Island Navy are boarding on it. Then, we see two soldiers from Poulon's Army coming too: these are Jack and Shane. Jack trips on the sidewalk and, taking that as a sign, he warns Shane that he won't board. He stops him, mentioning about not being gloomy again about his ex-wife and convincing him that he has no choice, since this trip was already set.
Once on the ship's dorm, the two encounter the other members of the group, also happy that Jack has boarded. They tell him there's a party about to happen, and that put him in a good mood.
The Navy crew members are there at the party. The soldiers try to mingle, changing the song playing on the jukebox and dancing, and this works. The Captain also enjoys the performance, and right after that, he introduces who are the soldiers on this trip, in that order: Morris, Ted, Henry, Lardee, Shane and Jack.
As the appetizers are served, Jack grabs a few to eat, along with a bowl of green sauce. A crew member approaches with her plate, so they can share the sauce. Jack asks her what it was made of, and she says it's rosemary. That makes him nervous, since he consumed too much before knowing about that, then he drops everything and runs away to the ship's bow. He passes by Shane on the way, chatting with one of the staff on the kitchen, and explains to her that the rosemary story has to do with a certain moment involving Jack, his father and large quantities of the spice, letting him a bit intolerant to the herb.
Jack ends up crossing all the ship, before reaching the bow and put out what he ate. If he had been a little faster, he could have reached the sickbay, now right behind him. But something else was behind him too...
Trying to help him, Jackie arrives to check if he's okay. Jack chooses to just nod his answers and say nothing. Then she offers him a medicine, soon coming back to her duties at the kitchen. This "conversation" between the both happens kinda like a flirting, especially by her, leaving Jack fascinated.
A little later, Shane shows up looking for him. Jack stayed on the bow, enjoying the night, the breeze and the sea landscape, something unprecedented, since the sea is one of his fears. He tells Shane he's felling better, health-wise and "heart"-wise, since maybe, at last, he overcame his ex and met someone new to love. Shane celebrates and greets him for that, inviting him to come back to the party and tell everything about it.

- This ship (the vessel) is suitably called Anima, root of the word "anima-tion", the chosen medium to tell this story; a very meaningful detail for the first episode!

- When Jack mentions he's already getting over Georgia, he says that, in a certain way, like the character Kronk, from the movie Emperor's New Groove (2000), at this scene.
- Jack, in a certain point, calls Shane "Shenanigan". This was the old name the author would use for Shane, before she knew this was a real word (remember, English is her second language). In the end, only the mention remained.
- When Shane tells to the crew members that "someone need to start this party", everyone gets quiet, somebody coughs and a random character appears in the corner of the screen. This is an "awkward silence", a classic trick from cartoons, especially Y2K cartoons.
- On this episode, there's the first apparition of the motto of this series: "It's gonna be a long ride..."
- Jack keeps the lavender cloth Jackie gives him to clean himself until an opportunity to return it to her, 16 episodes later.
