Sinopse
No Baile de Máscaras de Mindy, só é preciso sentir.Enredo
Base do Exército de Poulon, noite. Jack está se arrumando para sair, vestindo roupas chiques. Enquanto calça os sapatos, dá mais uma olhada num papel em seu criado-mudo, com um nome em bonita caligrafia: Jackie. Se perguntando se poderá encontrá-la no lugar para o qual vai, Shane interrompe seus devaneios, vendo se ele está pronto para que os dois possam ir juntos.
Danceteria Jumpin' East of Java, um pouco depois. É aniversário de Mindy, e este é seu baile de máscaras. Há uma curta fila na porta, pois os convidados continuam chegando, mas entram um de cada vez para receber um pseudônimo, um codinome inventado pela aniversariante. Jack recebe o seu, "Dançarino de Ébano", e entra. Olhando ao redor, estão todos vestindo preto, branco, cinza e prata, e o lugar parece mais chique do que de costume.
As luzes se apagam, deixando a Lua passar por uma claraboia e brilhar no globo de discoteca. Ouve-se uma gravação narrada pela própria Mindy, com ela mesma repetindo-a ao final, enquanto faz uma entrada triunfal. Há também um bolo, uma breve explicação sobre o tema da festa, e aí sim, música para abrir a pista de dança.
Jack reconhece a primeira música, um clássico de Brian Setzer, e outra convidada mascarada também. Os dois cruzam a pista para se encontrar e, testando as águas, veem que interagem bem juntos. Uma nova faixa, um dueto, solta a dupla um pouco mais, lhes mostrando ainda mais afinidade. Marco também percebe, anunciando "o primeiro par da noite": o Dançarino de Ébano e a Bailarina de Marfim.
Ainda pensando no que aconteceu mais cedo, Jack arrisca pensar que esta moça misteriosa é Jackie, mas prefere manter o segredo e descobrir depois de seu encontro com ela, que está por vir. Enquanto isso, os dois desconhecidos continuam a curtir a festa, não se separando em nenhum momento.
Ao sair, Jack e seus amigos ficam admirados que a combinação foi perfeita. Jack acha que vai "se aproximar rapidinho" da Bailarina, mas os outros o lembram que ele gostou de Jackie também. Seja como for, a revelação virá mais tarde, e que fique nas mãos do destino, então.

- No caso do grupo dos 12 e de alguns frequentadores que já têm pares formados, os codinomes são meio combinados, com Mindy agindo como "casamenteira", mas a ideia principal é enaltecer alguma qualidade que os convidados tenham. Você pode procurar quem é quem na seção abaixo.
- Durante o número de The Footloose Doll, há este trecho: "A little gin goes a long way / So please pass it around" (Um pouco de gim vai bem longe / Então passe pra frente). Enquanto "dublam" e interpretam a música, podemos ver suas tendências: o Dançarino de Ébano recusa ("passa pra frente") e a Bailarina de Marfim bebe apenas uma dose, talvez para ganhar um pouco mais de coragem. Synopsis
At Mindy's Masquerade Ball, you just have to feel it.Plot
Poulon's Army Base, at night. Jack is getting ready to go out, dressed in fancy clothes. As he puts on his shoes, he glances again at a piece of paper on his bed table, with a name in beautiful handwriting: Jackie. Wondering if he might find her on the place he's going, Shane interrupts his daydreams, checking if he's ready so they can go together.
Dance club Jumpin' East of Java, a little later. It's Mindy's birthday, and this is her masquerade ball. There's a short line at the door, since the guests keep on coming, but they enter one at a time to receive a pseudonym, an alias created by the birthday girl. Jack receives his own, "Ebony Dancer", and he's in. Looking around, everyone is dressed in black, white, gray and silver, and the place looks fancier than usual.
The lights dim, letting the moon shine through a skylight and illuminate the disco ball. A recording narrated by Mindy is playing, with her repeating it at the end as she makes a great entrance. There's also a cake, a brief explanation of the party's theme, and then, finally, music to open the dance floor.
Jack recognizes the first song, a classic from Brian Setzer, and another female masked guest does it too. The two cross the dance floor to meet each other and, testing the ground, they find they interact well together. A new track, a duet, makes the two get a bit more loose, showing even more affinity. Marco also notices, announcing "the first pair of the night": the Ebony Dancer and the Ivory Ballerina.
Still thinking about what happened earlier, Jack ventures to guess this mysterious lady is Jackie, but prefers to keep the secret and find out after their upcoming meeting. Meanwhile, the two strangers continue to enjoy the party, being together all the time.
As Jack and his friends leave, they are amazed that the pair had a perfect match. Jack thinks he'll "be close in a jiffy" to the Ballerina, but the others remind him that he liked Jackie too. Be that as it may, the revelation will come later, so let it be in the hands of fate, then.

- The name of the club is a nod to the opening song of the first season of the series.
- In the case of the 12 and some regulars who already have formed pairs, the aliases match, somehow, with Mindy acting a bit like a "matchmaker", but the main idea is to praise some quality that the guests have. You can see who's who on the section below.
- During the number of The Footloose Doll, there's this excerpt: "A little gin goes a long way / So please pass it around". While they lip-sync and "roleplay" the song, we can see their tendencies: the Ebony Dancer refuses ("pass it around") and the Ivory Ballerina drinks only one shot, maybe to gain a bit more of courage. A Public Service Announcement From This Cartoon: we do not encourage the consumption of alcoholic drinks, but if this happens very eventually, and/or if that pleases you, just keep some responsibility in mind, okay?
