Seu estado de espírito só depende da motivação certa.Enredo
Base do Exército de Poulon, primeiras horas da manhã. Ouve-se um ruído baixo e abafado: é o celular de Ted, em seu criado-mudo. Ele acorda e sobe uma escada, que leva a uma espécie de torre anexada ao dormitório dos Asas de Fogo. É lá que ele acorda o restante do pelotão.
A seguir, temos o passar da manhã. Embora seja uma segunda-feira como qualquer outra, este não é o caso para Jack, se sentindo mais motivado após a viagem para Long Island no fim de semana anterior. Ele demonstra sua animação colocando músicas para tocar na jukebox do refeitório e fazendo as tarefas do dia um tanto mais feliz.
Até aparecerem os Pinguins da Costa Oeste, questionando-o a respeito, um tanto como forma de provocação. Em certa oportunidade preparada pelos oficiais - uma corrida de obstáculos -, Stan decide provocar Jack mais um pouco, pondo suas habilidades à prova, como se o fato de estar apaixonado fosse motivo para enfraquecê-lo, o que não é o caso. O problema é que a tensão é tanta, que ambos esqueceram de seus grupos, deixando-os para trás logo ao soar do apito. Reunindo todo o pelotão para entender o caso, o Subtenente Gumps questiona os dois: Stan afirma que fez isso por uma "questão de honra", e Jack acaba tendo que confessar que o motivo tem a ver com "coisas do coração".
Gumps relata isso ao superior imediato de Jack, o Tenente Trent, que conversa com ele separadamente. Entendendo suas razões, o Tenente concorda que tal comportamento poderia ter sido evitado, mas vendo que seu recruta parece bem-disposto, ele decide "redirecionar seu foco": se Jack e seu grupo forem bem nas atividades da semana, o Tenente lhes dará o próximo fim de semana de folga, para que possam aproveitar novamente com as moças que eles conheceram na viagem.
Isso de fato motiva aos seis e realmente funciona, pois Trent lhes avalia e vê que estavam mais concentrados do que de costume. Ele até reflete como nunca pensou em usar mulheres como estímulo, ao que Shane responde: "Talvez porque só o Jack tinha uma e não estava indo muito bem com ela?" Um gracejo, apenas, mas que o Tenente entende, sabendo como Jack se sentia no começo da temporada no Exército e lhe dando um voto de confiança: "Afinal, eu quero ver essa história andar pra frente".

- O padrão do title card (imagem que abre o episódio) se repete no Episódio 8.
- Quando Ted sobe à torre e toma fôlego, isso faz parecer que ele vai cantar, como um galo normal faria, mas na verdade ele está prestes a tocar seu trompete. Ele aponta isso a quem assiste, numa quebra direta da quarta parede.
- O soar do trompete e a música que Jack escolhe para tocar (certa versão de Hallelujah I Love Her So, de Ray Charles) têm a mesma tonalidade musical, Si bemol maior. Foi uma coincidência por parte da autora, mas ela adora. :)
- Quando Stan pede para Cameron analisar a situação, isso é uma referência a como os personagens nos quais eles são inspirados (Capitão e Kowalski) se comportam.
- Ao ser questionado por Trent, Jack se defende, dizendo "Podem tirar tudo de mim, menos meus sapatos de camurça azuis". Esta é uma menção à música Blue Suede Shoes, de Elvis Presley.
- Quando Lardee começa a relatar sobre Mae, Shane responde "Cara, ela tá tão na sua..." Isso é uma fala famosa (na versão dublada) do personagem Greg, da série Todo Mundo Odeia o Chris.
- E ainda, quando Lardee é posto em seu lugar, após achar que Mae é uma bruxa (será??? :3), Trent o encontra caído na cama. Questionando se ele está bem, Lardee diz "É... mais ou menos, mais ou menos". Isso é um meme bem velho do programa Pânico na TV. (Sim, a autora gosta de memes velhos.)
- A última fala do episódio, "ver essa história andar pra frente", reforça o sentimento que todos queremos com esta história da qual esta Wikia faz parte. <3

Poulon's Army Base, early morning hours. There's a low, muffled noise: it's Ted's cellphone, on his bed table. He wakes up and climbs a ladder, taking to some sort of tower indexed to the Fire Wings' dorm. It's there he wakes up the rest of the platoon.
Coming next, there's the morning passing. Although it's a Monday like any other, this is not the case for Jack, feeling more motivated after the trip to Long Island at the previous weekend. He shows his animation playing songs on the dining hall's jukebox and doing the assingments of the day a bit more happy.
Until the West Coast Penguins appear, questioning and poking him about it. In a certain opportunity set by the officials - an obstacle course -, Stan decides to tease Jack a little more, putting his skills to the test, as if the fact he's in love was a reason to weaken him, and that's not the case. The problem is, this had so much tension that both of them forgot about their groups, leaving them behind as soon as the whistle is blown. Reuniting all of the platoon of understand the case, Second Lieutenant Gumps questions both: Stan affirms he did that for "questions of honor", and Jack ends up having to confess that the reason has to do with "things from the heart".
Gumps reports that to Jack's immediate superior, Lieutenant Trent, that talks to him separately. Knowing his reasons, the Lieutenant agrees that such behavior could have been avoided, but seeing his private looks good-natured, he decides to "redirect his focus": if Jack and his group do good on the week's activities, the Lieutenant will give them the next weekend off, so they can enjoy some good time again with the ladies they met on the trip.
This, indeed, motivates the six and really works, because Trent evaluates them and sees they were more focused than usual. He even ponders how he never thought of using women as a stimulus, as Shane responds: "Maybe because only Jack had one and wasn't going so well with her?" Just some fun, of course, but the Lieutenant understands, knowing how Jack was feeling on the beginning of the season at the Army and giving him support: "After all, I wanna see this story go ahead".

- The title card's template is repeated on Episode 8.
- When Ted climbs the tower and takes some breath, it looks like he's going to crow, like a normal rooster would do, but he's actually about to play his trumpet. He points that to who's watching, in a direct break of the fourth wall.
- The sound of the trumpet and the music Jack chooses to play on the jukebox (a certain version of Hallelujah I Love Her So, Ray Charles) have the same musical tone, B-flat major. It was a coincidence from the author's part, but she loves it. :)
- When Stan asks Cameron to analyze the situation, this is a nod to how the characters they're inspired by (Skipper and Kowalski) behave.
- When questioned by Trent, Jack defends himself, saying "Take everything from me, except my blue suede shoes". This is a mention to the song Blue Suede Shoes (you don't say??), from Elvis Presley.
