Sinopse

Para ele, um novo desafio. Para ela, velhos problemas voltando.

Enredo

Jumpin' East of Java, à noite. Os dançarinos presentes no salão estão dando uma pausa, conversando. Enquanto isso, vemos 16 passos de alguém usando um par de afiados saltos altos. É Lola, que literalmente arromba a porta e, junto de seu par e irmão, Alvin, desafia Jack e Jackie para dançar, tudo no ritmo de certa música que já está tocando. O fim da apresentação mostra que Lola parece estar tentando flertar com Jack.

Os irmãos discutem, pois Lola acha que Alvin não foi bem o bastante, e Alvin explica que nem teria como ele fazer isso, já que ela não parava de pisar em seus pés e machucá-lo. Apenas pela voz dela, Jackie a reconhece, sabendo que ela costuma causar problemas desde que as duas eram adolescentes. Lola explica o motivo de estar ali: Jackie lhe "tirou" mais um título. Certas formas dela de falar (de gritar, na verdade) acabam quebrando taças e copos no bar. Tentando minimizar os danos, Mindy recomenda que as duas saiam do salão para se resolver, mas um dos presentes acha que isso é pretexto para que elas briguem, assim levando todos para a rua e criando um caos.

Lola e Jackie começam a se provocar, trocando acusações. Isto é breve, pois logo ambas perdem o controle e de fato começam a brigar, puxando cabelos e tentando socar uma à outra. É preciso Jack, Alvin, Marco e Leon para apartar as duas, enquanto Mindy as repreende pelo comportamento. Alvin, então, sugere inocentemente que elas se resolvam em outra competição de dança, se o problema é justo por este pretexto. Mindy incentiva a ideia e, a contragosto de Jack, que acha que todos deviam acalmar os ânimos primeiro, Jackie topa pelos dois. A multidão comemora o desfecho e se dispersa, enquanto Jackie recebe um panfleto para a Batalha das Danças, em Brighton. Percebendo que o evento acontecerá no dia seguinte, ela se espanta, quebrando sem querer (e com um gesto, não com a voz) um copo das mãos do barman, sentado na calçada assistindo à coisa toda. Ela logo volta para dentro da danceteria, se convencendo, mas Jack, apreensivo, reflete consigo mesmo, respirando fundo e tomando coragem para o que está por vir.

Synopsis

A new challenge for him... And old problems coming back for her.

Plot

Jumpin' East of Java, at night. The dancers on the ballroom are taking a break, chatting. Meanwhile, we see sixteen steps of someone wearing a pair of very sharp high heels. It's Lola, that literally breaks down the door and, along with her pair and brother, Alvin, challenges Jack and Jackie to dance, all on the rhythm of a certain song already playing. The end of the performance shows that Lola is trying to flirt with Jack.

The brothers argue, because Lola thinks that Alvin wasn't good enough, and Alvin explains that wouldn't even be possible, since she was stomping on his feet and hurting him all the time. Only by her voice, Jackie recognizes her, knowing that she's a source of trouble since the two were teenagers. Lola explains why she's there: Jackie "took away" another title from her. Certain ways while she talks (while she screams, actually) end up breaking glasses at the bar. Trying to minimize the damage, Mindy suggests the two leave the ballroom to solve this, but someone around thinks this an excuse for a fight, taking everyone to the street and causing a havoc.

Lola and Jackie start to tease and accuse each other. This is brief, because they soon lose control and start to actually fight, pulling hair and trying to punch each other. Jack, Alvin, Marco and Leon are needed to separate the two, while Mindy represses them fot their behavior. Alvin, then, innocently suggests that they should solve their quarrel on another dance competition, if the problem is precisely because of this pretext. Mindy encourage that idea and, reluctantly for Jack, that thinks everyone should calm down first, Jackie agrees for both of them. The crowd celebrates the outcome and disperses, while Jackie receives a flyer to the Dance Battle, in Brighton. Noticing the event will happen the next day, she gets in shock, accidentally breaking (and with a gesture, not her voice) a glass from the barman's hands, sitting on the sidewalk watching the whole thing. She comes back inside the dance club, convincing herself, but Jack, a bit scared, it's still thinking about it, taking a deep breath and courage to what's about to come.
